Our Story & Leadership

A legacy of education and service, spanning generations and crossing borders to empower the next generation of leaders.

The Origin of Jomada Foundation

Born from family legacy and dedicated to giving underprivileged children the support they need to fulfill their God-given potential.

The Jomada Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation committed to expanding access to quality education for underprivileged children. We focus particularly on children from widowed and disadvantaged families, recognising that a strong educational foundation significantly shapes future opportunities and life outcomes.

Established in 2024 by Dr. Patience Biobele Hart, the Foundation is named in honour of her parents, whose lives reflected a deep commitment to education, compassion, and service to others. The name JOMADA is a beautiful acronym derived from the first two letters of the names of her three biological children—JOshua, MArgaret, and DAvid—symbolising both family legacy and a long-term commitment to future generations.

Through church-based initiatives, educational support, and community outreach in Lagos State, Nigeria, and Hull, United Kingdom, we have spent more than two decades investing in the lives of children and pre-teens, helping them build confidence, character, and aspiration for a brighter future.

The Founders We Honour

Jomada Foundation is built upon the foundation of love, education, and compassion lived by Sir Saturday and Mrs. Sussanah Korubo.

Sir Saturday Egbeye Korubo Fenny

1921 — 2006 Educationist, Tutor & Inspector of Education

Our patriarch was an educationist in every sense of the word. Over a distinguished career spanning more than 45 years, he served as a tutor, headmaster, and senior tutor across several schools in Rivers and Bayelsa States, Nigeria. He concluded his career as the Inspector of Education for Degema Local Government Area in Rivers State. Through his lifelong dedication to teaching and learning, he positively impacted countless young lives and firmly believed that education was one of the greatest tools for transformation.

Mrs. Sussanah Ibueribo Saturday Korubo

1942 — 2021 Compassionate Businesswoman & Community Mother

Our matriarch was a hardworking businesswoman who believed every child deserved an opportunity to succeed. Beyond raising her ten biological children, she opened her home and heart to many others, supporting and encouraging children to pursue education beyond the opportunities she herself had access to. Her life was defined by generosity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to helping others in her community.

To create a future where every child has access to quality education.

We envision a world where circumstance, economic background, or family loss does not limit a child's potential. Through access to quality learning and support, we work to build a world where every child can grow, succeed, and lead in their communities.

Our Everyday Mission

To provide access to quality education for underprivileged children—particularly those from widowed families—through scholarships, academic support, mentorship, and values-based development.
